Setting Permissions CuteFtp

This is how you would set Linux file and folder permissions using CuteFtp

With CuteFTP, navigate the "remote" directory to the directory that contains the file for which you need to set permissions. First, left-click on the file that will have its permissions changed to highlight the file. Then, right-click on the file that will have its permissions changed. From the menu, select "Change File Attributes.

This will bring up a window allowing you to specify unix permissions. Here are the two permissions that many application setup instructions will require you to set:

                   0755 (rwxr-xr-x)                                                0777 (rwxrwxrwx)

CuteFTP Version 6.0

Step one: Right mouse click on the file => Select "Properties/CHMOD" from context menu.

Step two: Enter either the number "777" in the field "Permissions" or select all checkboxes.
